Helping communities provide early chilhood care and education services

Although the support provided by peer educators to First Read groups is time limited, where interest among participating parents and carers exists to continue to meet together, First Read will support this.

Supplementary play and reading materials will be gifted to groups that express a desire to continue to meet and a small budget to meet the group’s refreshments costs will be provided.

During the pilot phase of planned First Read interventions the interest in and demand for ongoing ECCE along with the feasibility of and ongoing support needs of groups will be monitored and assessed
